Alex Russell, a domestic abused single mom, leaves her abuser with her two-year-old daughter to a shelter and gets a job cleaning houses at Value Maids.
Alex deals with raising a young daughter, an abusive ex-boyfriend, dysfunctional family, and government assistance in this story of a writer trying to get by.
